Posted on the Guardian website by one of their reporters in October 2012 who has been wearing one of the POLITE think bike waistcoats:

"Initially I was even concerned I might get arrested for impersonating a policeman but then found out it was actually a superintendent who devised this jacket. By now, I have passed so many police cars and bobbies on the beat without any problems that I am not worried anymore"

Might be interesting to get in touch with this reporter and see what his take on all this is.

I do wonder just how regional the issue that A&S police were concerned about is. There are many reports of police not being concerned about them, so maybe it is just A&S police that don't like it?

I ride fairly near to a police station and so regularly pass policemen/women whilst out hacking wearing my POLITE hiviz. They've never said anything other than a cheery hi and a wave.

I DO think they make drivers slow down more so than your average hiviz and I intend to keep wearing mine until one of my local friendly bobbies tells me I can't.
