I'm post 97 and need the test! I wasn't too upset till I was quoted £1000 for lessons and test... Poor chauffeur (I mean OH) won't be retiring anytime soon!

Thats the problem Im having - I want to do the lessons and test ASAP so I can tow legally on my own, but cant afford it - over £600 for a 3 day course and the test, then theres no guarantee that you will pass first time!

Not to be even more depressing but when I phoned the course place they told me the pass rate is worse than the normal test (I had 6 normal ones so rather scared now!)

Passed post 97 and passed towing test first time this year. Found it really easy but did have the added bonus of driving a quad+trailer and maneouvering round the stables/muckheap daily for the last year which meant I was already able to reverse accurately and subsequently didn't need many lessons.

Passed my driving test in 2007 and passed by towing test in Feb. My training and test cost about £450 for 4hrs training and then the test straight after, but my university paid for all of it

Bens_mum, I did my test fairly near you (Nottingham) and it was a lot cheaper. I did it with Diamond driver training, they are very good, I did a two day course first and then my test. They get you driving to a very high standard so have a high pass rate. Ok I failed first time (because I was rediculously nervous) but passed second time and they even gave me some extra free lessons to help me out.
Have a look here:

I think my course (3 days) including test was a bout £450, you can do shorter or longer courses depending on experience. Give them a ring they are very nice.
