i put no for all but the last - i am very hard to annoy! lol
don't get annoyed about much...
although, i hate when you ask someone to put hayledge in so when i bring in its finished and then you find out that lazy person didnt!! grr...
As a yard owner, I have plenty of business and rules are rules. There are rules to adhere to in every aspect of peoples lives so to respect the rules of YO should be no different.

Oh dear, I think you'd combust if you saw me riding
Pet hates are people interfering, people touching my pony or his things, and people that leave their horse in the stable for hours on end with no bed/water/hay etc. Not so bothered about poo-picking, sweeping up etc, I just do my own bit and let others worry about theirs.
My pet hate is trouble makers and people taking my stuff without asking or not putting it back so it end's up lost forever.Once you put something down at my yard you never see it again!
My pet hates are people not sweeping up after themselves, people who don't look after their horses properly, busibodies and the most annoying thing....people who but in when the vet is seeing your horse and start telling the vet your horses history and asking questions about your horses injury/illness completely uninvited!
Well I don't really run a yard but there are two holiday cottages at the yard and people bring their horses on holiday - it drives me mad when I see the yard in a mess, the muckheap in a mess, using a bale of bedding without telling me, not mucking out properly (I hate bitty beds) etc - Actually I really don't think I would have the patience to run a proper yard!
ALL of those except the paying on time,IF they have a genuine reason for it!!Poo HATE to see a field full of poo purely because it is sooo unbeneficial to the horse!GOSSIPS,do my head in,especially if they havnt got their facts straight!!And as for the last one i think everyone should pull in together, makes for smooth running!!
> people who think they are the only people in the world who know how to look after a horse properly. In particular DIYers who moan constantly to the staff about other DIYers. DIYers who have one horse and make nasty comments to the staff about the way they care for 20 also annoy me. There is nothing wrong with a properly managed deep litter bed!!!
> on the opposite side, I also find it hard to deal with the people that genuinelly don't look after their horse to what I would consider a minimum standard. Now I know this is relative but I think leaving a TB unrugged and lame in a field through the entire of Novemeber and October without bothering to even come up and check (and lying to your parents who are paying your livery) is below minimum horse care standard. As it leaving horses stabled 24/7 in their boxes, unexercised for days on end. JMO but I do get mad when I see this.
you see I don't get the not paying on time - most people pay their mortgage, electricity, gas etc.... on time every month so why should YO have to wait over a week at times with people making up lame excuses not to pay you - we have bills to pay too.

They dont, but what else can they do except stick to a strict pay or you are out. Our YO is continually letting people run up huge bills, which I dont think is doing anyone any favours. I pay weekly, does not see such a shock to the system! But then I work at a 2nd job to pay for them & that pays me weekly so easier allround.
good on you, I don't mind people who I know are just being forgetful, but the ones who can't really afford their horses anyway and make excuses does get me mad!
It is the first thing that comes out of my wages every month, and a few days early
!!I see your point with people that do it continuosly(sp)after all you are running a business, however most yards i have been on if there has been a 1 off were i have had a genuine reason they have been very good and given me a weeks grace, but then i am a good payer!!
People being untidy and not respecting other peoples property, and also dogs on livery yards.
I own dogs and horses and keep them all at home, I dont let the dogs round the stables unless the horses are in, basically it is just too easy for them to get trodden on! At a livery yard the only dogs there should be the YO'! Just my opinion but you did ask!
I don't actually, I'm on a great fair yard. And I'm not the one running a poll on everything I hate about the people who pay my wages! Just had to stick up for the ones she is bitching about.
If I did run a yard i would have a number of conditions, no dogs, no small children, etc and being paid to keep the yard tidy would be built into my rates as you can't always rely on the customer to do it, same with poo picking. I am pretty laid back about most things, but do think a spiteful gossip can damage an entire yard very quickly so would have no tolerance there
