Hi all,

My mare has seasonal head shaking triggered by pollen. Started last month or so when the trees started to pollen.
She becomes very agitated, sensitive around her ears & face & snatches at the reins when being ridden, causing her to trip & me nearly falling several times ! crazy rubbing her head & nose as & when she can especially when we get home & un tack.

In the field she wears a full face & nose fly mask, now has a nose net when ridden, micklem bridle.

We’ve been trying antihistamines 20 twice a day of the certrazine ones for a good 2 months now … I’m not sure I’ve seen a change 🤔

Anyway … I started her on Pollenex powder 1 week ago now & I’m pretty sure it’s made a difference very quickly ! She’s definitely no where near as agitated in herself, no rubbing or sensitivity around her head. Just generally nicer to be around 🤣

Is it a fluke or can you see a difference that quickly ?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

With some supplements it can take a week or two, and others it can take up to a month or two - it honestly just depends on the horse really, so I wouldn't be surprised that you've seen such a fab improvement in a short space of time.

With my retired lad Baggs, you can tell if he hasn't had his gut supplement within 2 hours of it coming out his system - equally you can tell in less than 2 days that it is back in his system, so I do believe that they can work quite fast.

I haven't used Pollenex specifically but I do use other supplements and have noticed them working quite quickly in some cases :)

I used this a few years ago on a horse that had severe headshaking due to rape pollen. The field next to us had rape in it for the first time and he really reacted badly in the field and stable.

Vet wanted to start him on steroids and I said I would try pollen x first . Vet told me I was wasting my money. Within 2 weeks I saw a massive difference I would definitely recommend.
