The most expensive boots I have ever bought myself are sub £200, so figured I might treat myself to some nice boots soon. Have decided on brown polo boots, so what ones are the best? If it matters, I have short legs, but skinny ankles and average calves. Oh and my feet and quite wide! I fit very nicely indeed in mountain horse kids long boots and they are skinny enough around the ankle to not go all baggy!

Try places like SATS or Roxtons and see if they can order in made to measure. Or alternatively go to Argentina and get them made out there for pennies and have a lovely holiday in the sun to boot (see what I did there?...)
I think that Dogwood place in London has them too and looked quite nice when I was browsing online but depends if you want plain type or stitched floral type.

The roxton ones are a bit of a bargain. Any idea what theyre like? I'm not actually going to play polo in them though, just joining in latest fashion of dressage divas in polo boots!

No sorry I got mine out in Arg about 10 years ago but Roxtons have good quality stuff and an established company so would imagine easy to deal with if you have an issue. I don't think any of the bigger polo companies would stock rubbish ones as they take a lot of abuse on the field so need to be decent leather and zips otherwise they'd be replacing them constantly!

There's a lot of love for petrie's! However proper polo boots are nothing like the imitation dressage style ones. The dressage ones like petries are a typical stiff leather dressage boot and very long in the leg. Basically a dressage boot with the buckle and zip in the middle.

Polo boots are a completely different fit and obviously not as stiff as the stirrup is much shorter!

Love them both though!

yeah don't get the imitation ones!! proper polo ones have a couple of layers of leather to protect your leg in a ride off.

I got mine from Argentina, but the UK suppliers are pretty good! RJ polo have some decent ones for £250 (and I think you can get a discount if you are at Uni). I would advise trying them on first though... although mostly to check for quality (don't forget they will need wearing in).
