Shires do a polypad look alike. . Is the polypad much superior.? I must say the embroidery option appeals but I want a good quality quilted comfortable saddle pad for my horse as he is getting older and loosing a little top line. I currently use a sheepskin lined numnah.

If it fits with the saddle, I'd stick with the pure sheepskin numnah you are using unless you are having issues with it - sheepskin is really shock absorbing & pressure relieving which is helpful for an OAP losing muscle.

Some gentle but targeted in-hand work can also really help with maintaining and building muscle in a really horse-friendly way too. Ideal for winter when riding might be tricky too
