Polypads

Do the 'original' polypads RRP£22.00 pull down on to high withers?

Or do i need to get a 'butterfly' RRP£37 or 'preformer' RRP £28 pad which appear to be shaped along the spine?

Any other recomendations for saddle cloths with D ring attachments, not long straps to go roung the girth billets, would be great.

Stubben make saddle cloths which velcro onto the D rings, I think they're about £38, but are lovely and wear well.

I am a muppet when it comes to polypads, I just can't seem to fit them right, they always pull down on the wither and slip back no matter how much I pull them forwards and into the gullet when saddling up. Have tried the original and perfomer types and have now given up completely!

All of them pull down onto the withers on my lad however far up I pull it to start with.

I now stick with Mattes/Bucas

I love my PP - fits my high withered TB really well.

Mine doesn't pull down as long as its jammed into the gullet and my girth is tight enough. However I have a flat withered cob!

I have a regular bog standard one on my high wither horse. With my dressage saddle it does slip a bit but on my jumping saddle it is great. I also ride with a prolite pad so pull it up as high as I can. I do not find it really bothers him. My ordinary bog standard comp squares end up being much flatter on his back than the polypad.

i do find that mine have in the poast havent tryed it with my wow yet!

i have got 2 nuumed hiwither numnahs though which have the small straps to the d rings and they are lovely1

Had them for years and on different types of horses hunters to racers... no problem and can't fault them as long it's jammed in the gullet of the saddle and girth is tight enough... it won't slip. I use 2 on the racers.

I have Numed saddle pad and it's fab, great for hunting. but as i use it alot it's expensive to replace so i only use it purely for hunting.

I've got quite a few nuumed hi wither numnahs, but with the D ring attachments they are expensive!

Just before i got the wow, i bought a prolite all in one cloth, which got used about twice; £60 quid well spent!

I just need a white sadle cloth for competitions...... not that i'm doing anything at the moment though as he's cut his knee.

I got a performer one for Christmas...the one with toweling type stuff on the underside...so far it has been great...I was dubious because I have a round cob but I pull it right up in the saddle gullet and it stays in place lovely. The acid test for me will be when I start ramping up the distances to train for the next endurance season...will it stay in place after 15/20 miles????

yes the nuumed ones are expensive i luckily got a lovely dressage one for christmas but still not sure what to put under the jumping saddle, i think i might end up using my white polypad as long as it doesnt make it too tight!
