Well after expecting it to be cancelled the sun has been shining and if anything the ground in places was firm!
Dressage wasn't as good as at Gatcombe just didn't really have her as collected between leg and hand as I would like but it was still reasonable. We got a 35.2 which was middling.
The show jumping was as always at Pontispool a very strong track well up to height and quite a lot of dog legs and turns. I must admit even with a good show jumper I did wonder how well it would jump. She really pinged I haven't jumped anything since finishing the xc at Gatcombe and that tends to suit her. She jumped one of her best rounds expect coming to the triple down the side she totally misjudged the pole going in which was unlike her and really knocked it out - otherwise clear. She makes so few mistakes and to be fair that is her first pole BE this year!

The cross country I though was reasonably straightforward although it did ask some questions. I set off with the aim of getting near the time. She jumped the first few great and really powered on. A friend commented she galloped better which has been one of her problems. Fence 7 to 8 was the first real question a big brush with a 90 degree turn on about 6 strides to a rolltop.
We had a good rhythm and she turned really well at a good speed but controlled. Unfortunately she badly slipped and nearly came down where they had laid gravel on the track and I nearly came off. We had to stop rearrange ourselves and circle back over the rolltop as it was numbered separately no jumping penalties but time wasted.
She didn't lose her confidence and jumped the double of brushes, to steps down to triple brush very well. I was a little worried about the bounce double but that jumped well.
The water was quite tricky because about 4 strides out was two offset narrow rolltops but those jumped really well. Our only other dodgy moment was the double of brushes near the end. You jump the first on a slight angle 3 strides to another which encourages them to run out left. She jumped the first huge (never has learnt to brush through them) and despite jockey have little reins or good position having nearly been jumped off stayed straight as a die to second element.
(Not me in pic but gives you an idea)
We got through the finish only 14 seconds over the time which I was delighted with considering how much time we had lost. We finished on a score of 44.8 which unfortunately in our section was 11th (all the other sections including OI that would have been placed
) Without the time faults we would have been 3rd as very tight scores.
In a funny way Sarnie went better than at Gatcombe even if the result does not look as good. We saw a lot better strides both SJ and XC and I was delighted that we could have made the time. Will post a link to Pro photos when up as they show our slip and how near we came to falling very well!
