Just a quick post but I wanted to share that I took my lovely girl XC schooling at Pontispool last night and we had the most excellent time.

Apart from a couple of 'issues' with a trackaner and that awful ditch with the water in it in the 2nd field she was brilliant and it was great to just get out and about and charge about jumping random fences and enjoying ourselves again instead of stressing our way through the indoor SJ season (we are not indoor people LOL)

Plus we cleared a couple of the bigger fences (the more straight forward ones natch

) but it was ace for me to be flying over 4' again without feeling afraid. I didn't brave any of the team chase fences although the girl I was with put her mare at one without realising how HUGE it was... all i heard was a shriek of fear as she flew over it. Didn't help that her youngster gave it about a foot as well!

It was so successful that the people I went with are going to sort out some XC clinics for us in the next couple of weeks and hopefully I can iron out those ditch related 'kinks'

thanks for reading, sorry to be so self indulgent but we've been having a few problems lately with jumping and it was so nice to put the fun back into it that I've been pinging off the walls ever since!

Wow small world!

I saw a whole bunch of riders hacking across the 2nd field just as we were playing 'how cold is the water?' with my friend's youngster

that was probably you guys!

Yes, its a lovely course isn't it. I'd not been there before but my old boss designed it... I had visions of it being massive but actually there are lots of smaller fences and complexes as well which makes it really accessible to everyone I thought.

A dressage diva turned XC machine sounds ideal... My girl finds dressage very dull and likes to spice it up with some spooks and a rather snazzy looking 2time change routine which can be rather unsettling if you are only having a bash at a prelim test!
