My pony has a brand with initials T C quite big where the saddle goes. Does anyone know where I could find out anything about his breeding. Everything in his passport is unknown as the previous owner had to get a passport for him. I was told he is New Forest but he looks very much like a Connemara. It would just be nice to find out a bit about him and his back ground as he's the best pony. Thanks

Yes but no idea how you put pictures on here. Its on his left side at the beginning of his tummy if that makes sense . I can't find anything at all on the Internet although someone did mention a Thomas Castle but can't find any info on them. .

Not many breeds are branded and when they are its normally the shoulder. I think you need to confirm breeding (if a pure bred) first to try and narrow down the search. Can the previous owner not help with more info?

No he's a 14.1 grey and 17 years old. How do you put pics on here . Would love to see a pic of your New Forest . Previous owners didn't know much as they got him at 5 and had to get the passport so all the details are unknown .

yep, as peregine falcon said, TC is a millersford new forest pony :) i also have one and know MANY! the ones that are branded tend to have been ones that stayed out on the forest for a while and came in on the pony drifts... my mare came off the forest before weaning as we collected her from the breeder, and wasnt caught in a drift prior, so she isnt branded :)
as he is older, it may be that his breeding isnt recorded, as it was only fairly recently they had to have passports assigned as babies... and if forest bred fairly unlikely that the dam will be known, likely to be able to guesstimate the sire depending on which stallion ran which area depending on where they were put the year before he was born.... join the new forest pony people page on facebook - the girl who works with the breeder is on there and might be able to help you :)

Thank you so much for that information. Is it possible he could be a cross and not pure New Forest ? I am already on the New Forest page on face book and did ask about 2 years ago when I first got him but didn't find out much info . I'd love to get another with similar breeding as he's such a good boy

its possible, although no stallions except new forests are run, the mare would have to be a different breed, though again, most are new forest with a few shetlands about, unless a commoner ran another breed mare on the forest.. its more likely to be a "part bred" new forest if no breeding recorded, or dam was unregistered.. :) if possible, try to find the stud book for the year he was born, may help!

Quickest way to add pics. Create photobucket account online. Upload pics then copy and paste the "img" code into your post.

I have also PM'd you. I have the stud books at home so can have a look for you, although he may not have been registered when he was born.

Can't go wrong with a NF imo!

I have managed to add an album with 3 pics. If you click on me and albums can you see the pics? Why is it so complicated lol I was trying to put a pic as my profile but no option to add a pic!

i cant see photos :( to put my photos on, i open a picture from facebook in a new tab (right click), copy the address link, then insert into the post here as such:

hope that helps!!

Still at a loss argh !
I have just experimented with an album on my profile :)if you have got the photos in an album here click on the photo so it comes up on the screen then underneath it are 2 codes. copy the one that says bb code and paste it into a reply. hopefully that will work

I have changed it to public x
you are getting there :) the album is showing but there are no photos in it! try adding the photo again and make sure you click done when its uploaded and then when it goes back to the album click save changes on the album :)

We have Millersford Timothy, m 8 year old (I think) bay stallion. He's a bit small for a new forest, but very sweet.

I have always suspected that being branded upset him very much, as he came to us as a yearling with serious people issues.

Wow she's lovely. I'm really trying to track down how old my newforest might be as he seems to of aged alot recently he's apparently 17 and a half but his last owner had to get a passport done x

Just spoken to millersford stud and he didn't breed him as my ponies C is under the T not to the side so my search continues .....
