My 4.5yo son and I are just home from three days of Easter camp...

With the horrendous weather over the winter and then a broken collar bone (non equine related ) in February, and no mini rallies beforehand I really wasn't sure how it would go, but we went ahead anyway.

It started on Wednesday, and we had an enjoyable first morning, albeit pony was a little forward going, and jockey a little rusty. Needless to say, he stayed on the lead rein. It was a big group with most being 6+ and all riding off lead except us and one other..

In the afternoon the flatwork went well but they started jumping a chase me Charlie with mini barrels, and DS wasn't keen, even though I jumped pony over nicely minus jockey.. Instructor suggested we join the lead rein group who were in a tiny little manege, and that went swimmingly, lots of little jumps and confidence.

After a bit of thought on my part, we stuck with this group on day two, and had a fabulous morning. Pony had settled, and most of the ride he was off the lead, with me beside just for jumping..

In the afternoon we did games, and then hacked to local xc course which although v muddy, they were able to do banks, steps and some logs. Pony was on lead rein due to wide open spaces lol, but v settled.

Unfortunately the weather today was horrendous, but the instructors set up a handy pony course.

DS rode this all by himself with no help apart from mounting. A zigzag of poles, dismount, lead pony while stepping through tyres and along a bench, and some v tight bending poles to finish...

There was the option to sj but not until the afternoon, so our ride decided to leave it at that, so they all had their prize giving and got a rosette and a creme egg and that was us finished, to head home and get everything dried off...

All finished now, lots of muddy clothes in the machine and a great time had, except if I have to listen to 'mummy I wanted to do badges...' one more time I might scream.. He loves those pc mini achievement badges, and for some reason they weren't done this time...

Pictures later when I get them off my other phone...

I'm thawing out with a cup of tea now...

This is great timing for me to read. We're thinking of sharing a pony from a friend and I'd love to do mini pony club. I think I'll try to find the contact details for the DC. It looks like you had a wonderful time!!!

I'm impressed that you have pics in the dry!
Looking very smart, very clean considering the mud there :p

I'm a big fan of the playpen (assuming that's the one you were in!) as it's just the right size for the little ones to play and be confident in :) did you have Carly teaching?

It is great fun atlantis. ... Make sure the pc you are thinking of actually runs stuff for littlies though.. Some aren't too bothered until they are a bit older, and even ours which is huge doesn't do anything at all over the winter. ....

The playpen is just the right size isn't it :) About half the size of ours at home lol.. Yes we had the lovely Carly. .

As we were in a lorry, we got hard standing parking :) but the grass parking is pretty trashed. Had to push a friend in a jeep out yesterday and that was before today's downpour :(

Pics are yesterday lol...

Do they not do a little league anymore over winter? I thought they had one at smiths before/after the games crowd :)
It's something I can bring up at our members meet if you want, we could try and organise something & some members can teach, I think there's a B test in spring so more would be able to!

Lol, you were very lucky with the hard standing! Was there a lot there? I couldn't do Easter but I'm down to teach summer camp apparantly :p
Carly is great, haven't seen her in ages! :)
