I've been asked to ride a horse for a friend, they won't be paying me and I won't be paying them. I'm just wondering where I stand with insurance. As a pony club member I know I'm insured although I don't know if this covers me for working with that horse?
Any advice greatly appreciated

You'd have to call the underwriter to be sure. PC Insurance is more designed for children than a professional adult working with a horse. (Even though you can be a PC member until you are 25). But if you are just riding a horse for a friend rather than working with it as a professional then I expect you would be covered. It is 3rd party liability only though and under the current state of law that liability attaches strictly to the owner not the rider. If you want accident cover for yourself then you'll need separate cover anyway.
