Pony Club Minimus? Gates and Slip rails?

I think the rules are the same as far as I can gather. Just what incurres a penalty and what are the penalties. Dismounting etc.? Never been involved with this side of pony club before so trying to learn.

In tetrathlons, for slip rails they have to dismount, remove the top rail, lead pony through and replace the slip rail in 60 seconds, otherwise they incur penalties. With gates they have to stay mounted and open gate, pass through and shut gate within 60 seconds, or again they incur penalties. You also incur penalties if you jump the gate or slip rail!

However, I would definitely recommend buying the relevant rulebook from the Pony Club to double check the rules!

Ditto TGM re gate and sliprail, they get 60 penalties for help or if they don't get it done in time, but can be eliminated if they jump them or don't go through them. Another thing to be aware of is that they can't be eliminated for 3 stops. If they have 3 stops at a fence they go onto the next one, they just get penalties for each refusal. They can be eliminated though if they for taking wrong course, miss a fence, jump gate/sliprail, fall off. They start with 1400 points and lose points for refusals, etc. so even if they have loads of stops they can still come hom with some points. Another thing to be aware of is that they can get eliminated for outside assistance, so parents etc. DO NOT shout at them while they're on the course, especially to tell them what way to go. This happeneda few years ago to competitors who were eliminated after parents shouted at them to remember a fence and there was a right uproar. If you have any questions or queries, don't be afraid to ask an official or fence steward. Good Luck, hope you have a great weekend!!!

Definitely get up to date rule book
Rules do change from year to year
Competitors used to get eliminated for 3 refusals and no points for riding at all
Then it became more positive scoring with a count back system from 1400
Gates and slip rails need practice in technique at home as often ponies dont understand what is wanted with the slip rail as they need to step over lower pole in hand
