i personally love Rc, but then again ive never been to pc.
but i think the difference is the pc would be slightly more bitchier with all the little kiddies and stuff. were as the rc is more down to earch and not all go go go with adults and stuff so really it all depends on you and your horse tbh. have fun either way though

Sadly you are too far away for ours

Clubs are OK to a certain level and if there are some cracking horse and rider combinations, then group training to a higher standard may well be on offer. If you are really good, join Pony Club for the social side and have your specialist training privately and alongside the PC stuff.

I would say it depends on what your local PC & RC are like. Why not visit both & see which you think will suit you.Different branches/clubs have different interests/levels of competitiveness. No point in joining a club if their main interests are dressage & showing when yours are jumping.

I'd go for riding club as personally prefer them but again never been in PC always riding club since i was 13/14. Not sure about where you are but around here it tends to be younger kids in PC like 14 and under.
Have a look at websites for riding clubs and pony clubs around you to see what kind of things they do then you can pick the one that suits you best.

My sister and I do both... I quite PC this year though because my horse is simply too old and badly behaved to enjoy himslef (actually, he enjoys himself too much!) and spends most of his time blowing his brains. However, I had an amazing time, there are loads of older PC peeps in our branch, there are seprate rallies for over and under 13s. I love riding in our RC (my mum is secretary so had no choice in joining!) and find that, as a very young senior who still bounces pretty well when I fall, I take the risks in SJ jumpoffs and win them. The RC has been bitchier than the PC but I love it ("She only won because her mum is the secretary"...)
