got to the PC rally this morning and was running a tad late as it was. On the way there we saw one of the other girls going the other way. Arrived,got horses off the trailer and they were just swamped with horse flies! It turned out the pony on his way home came off his trailer and was going balistic and just kept rolling so they took him home. Another pony during the flatwork lesson had also had enough and got down for a roll. After the flatwork lesson my girls decided that enough was enough and we came home also. Poor horses had been bitten to pieces and the fly spray just wasnt working. I have never known the flies to be that bad at the venue and next week i will be taking fly rugs and stocks of fly spray. Can anyone recommend a spray that does work as the pink bottled one we had was next to useless.
