Morning!
Had a thought recently about rosettes... Does anybody know why, in Pony Club, rosettes at various placings are different to other competitions/organisations? So Blue for 1st, red for 2nd, green for 3rd, yellow for 4th, etc. Instead of red for 1st, blue for 2nd, yellow for 3rd, etc. Honestly a rosette of any colour is a pleasant surprise for us but I've always found it odd that PC do it differently to everyone else!!
Thanks! :)

I don't know the reasons, but I've never liked it when anywhere does anything other than traditional colours. On the year of the golden jubilee all our pc rosettes were gold.

I've no idea either, but competitors do moan at our open shows when they get '2nd place looking' rosettes instead of red ones! I'm pretty sure American shows have blue for 1sts too, isnt 'blue ribbon' a term for a top place/1st?

It always used to be blue for 1st place, I don't know when or why it changed to red. A lot of older shows still use blue for 1st and we do talk about "blue ribbon events" as being the best.

That's really interesting! I never realised it had changed. Would explain why PC have kept it like that - wonder why it was changed... Thanks everyone!
