What age did you sent your children to Pony Club?

I remember going at age 6, but i had been riding for a while.

What ability would you want your child to be at before they went?

Mum sent me at 9! I really enjoyed it wish I could have started earlier!

My daughter started going at 9, but I must say I am amazed how many activities her branch run for the really little ones. Varies a lot from branch to branch though - a friend's daughter is in a different branch and they don't organise much for the teenies.

i cant join until i know if i`m going residental at college or not

if i dont go residental then i will be 16 when i join. i didnt join when i got my first pony (i was 12) cos i didnt have anyone 2 go with and my pony wouldnt load into a trailer lol!

dun and dusted which pony club are you at?

Mine both went aged eight. They had only just started riding then. Rallies are ace fun and we have really enjoyed the competitions, achievement badge days and camps. The older one is finding some of it a bit samey now and again, but the thirteen year old still loves it.

I first went when as I was 10 only as before I lived on a island where there was only a riding club. I started going to they're comp, lessons and camps at about 5/6. Left the pony club at 19 as they messed me around with my B test. Might join again aged 21 to get my B riding.

My 6yo wants to join. Our local branch sounds fab, but unforunately we have no transport so very very stuck.
Son can rise to thr trot, do all the basics, ie walk, turn, stop, trot, but not yet trot on his own.
Most pony clubs do day camp in the summer for tinies, which might be a good starting point.
