Basically, a girl that I teach t o ride has very novicey parents who have bought her a 6yo welsh section B. He is lovely, however is nervey on the ground and when ridden. This could be overcome with work consistently, but she has lost her bottle and wont ride him. When I ride him he is beautiful however with her he sticks his head in the air, runs off, spooks etc. He is also a bugger to catch.
Basically she needs an older pony that needs less work and can be 'pulled around' a bit (not in a horrible way!) ie go and do pony club, hacks, etc etc. I do not have the time to sort the pony out and sell it for them, they will never sell it like it is (not in a million years) and they will not pay for schooling livery.
I want to take them to a yard with lots of ponies, and arrange a part ex - in a funny kind of way, I think this is best for the pony too.
Unfortunately they are of the "oh but she loves him" category of non horsey parents - and they dont see it is a disaster waiting to happen (child has allready been to A&E TWICE becasue of falls) so I am going to arrange, take them down there, and if they still wont budge I will walk away.
I have already found them a perfect pony btw, and the owner was prepared to wait as long as was needed so long as they put the work into the pony to sell it, and they didnt.
