Met the coolest pony ever today. I stepped in for my injured daughter at an arena eventing clinic and there was an 11-12hh thelwell type with a tiny rider joining in the fun. That pony was awesome. So honest and kind. The rider was visibly nervous but all she had to do was point him towards the fences and he would trot in with sewing machine legs, break into canter a few strides out and swish his fat rump over sweetly. He jumped solid, wide 80cm XC fences!! Amazing. The rider was very game. It was so much fun to watch them go!

So what golden ponies have you known and loved.

(Might start another thread for pony-s--ts I have known and loved haha!)

about 6 months ago we were in the market for a 11-12hh pony for my daughter. They are impossible to find where we are so ended up looking at a 14hh pony (please bare in mind my daughter is 6, just started jumping at this point). They bring this pony out to their outside jumping ring....no fence, zero fence, not even a hint of fence the wind is nocking some of the jump wings down it's that bad. On jumps daughter and off she goes, walk trot, canter. Pony does exactly what she wants, even if she's not asking quite right. Pony and daughter pop a jump a few times, no issue. Pony and daughter go to jump a line, daughter ends up on the neck of the pony. Pony slows down to a stop and looks at us as if to say "guys, something's wrong back there, can you have a check please?". Pony came home a week later. He's 7 years old and worth his weight in gold. He's got his sharer jumping when nobody thought she ever would and my daughter is in love.
