Hi all,

Well I've managed to start grooming my new pony and he's been ace to say he's never been groomed before :)

Anyhow... Was feeling along his back and he's got abit of dry flakey skin not huge flakes, little tiny ones, it's a really strange feel when I run my fingers through it! Lol. You can't really see it when you look but you can feel it.

Any recommendations of what to use? I've got baby oil and sudecream lol.

Thanks in advance :)

No it's defo not them 2 if it was ring worm there would be massive baldish patches and it can't be rain scald as he's not been out since October lol. Hmmm ill keep an eye on it though

Rain scald is a generic term for a fungal infection of the skin, and ringworm seldom causes massive bald patches.

I've got the same problem, posted a thread on it yesterday, it's like a scurfy/dry/dandruffy thing?

I've found that you need to sort dry skin from within so make sure his diet is correct!
Adding apple cider vinegar to greds is great for the skin!

All horses have scurf this time of year. It's part of natural shedding process. It's a bit of dandruff.

It'll go after a nice bath.

Oh good aslong as it goes. Dolly mix he's only a baby so I Darnt feed him too much, he's just on a handful of chop and a small scoop of suregrow. X
