Our mare who is on the whole placid and sweet natured has turned into devil pony , new pony arrived on the yard yesterdayand is stabled next to mine, this stable has been empty a while, my mare is constantly trying to attack the other pony , apparently knocked the farrier over today who smacked my mare , sense was then seen and she was moved over to another tie ring, yard owner just said to let them fight it out ! , not a good attitude when farrier has a job to do, both ponies are childrens ponies and yard owners mum looks after the new pony , i can just sense potential disaster but all the stables are full so no where to move to , any idea's ?

Could you ask one of the other liveries if they wouldn't mind swapping stables with you as there are no free stables?

could try asking for a swap , everyone had same stables for quite a while so not sure how they would feel about it , can only mention it before someone gets hurt .

If it is a stable within a barn with bars between them, she may settle if you stop him being able to see her, cover with rugs for a temporary trial.

She will settle down in a few days - she's just letting the new horse know that she is in charge.

Be vigilent when you are in the box with her so that you don't get hurt. If she is still being horrible in a weeks time then it might be best to seperate them.
