I wouldn't believe the "losing grazing" - that's standard dealers' spiel. Same woman is selling 3 atm and phone number links to a dog dealer specializing in imported cropped and docked dogs.
Bargepole, very long one! :(
If it helps, he doesn't look thinner or in a more dangerous place than hundreds of other unwanted colts. At least she hasn't just abandoned him somewhere.

no, my worry is he will end up in one because of being free, he looks fine now. Reading the other ads I don't think it's a dealer, sounds like a novice who's bitten off more than they can chew and can't afford to sort things out now it's getting towards winter (look at the price reduction on the OTTB).

How are you able to see their other ads?

Phone number search on Google. The OTTB that she claims was famous and won 90% raced fifty times and won 4. He last raced in January and has now sold for £2,300 which she's lucky to get for a horse with that mileage and age that hasn't been reschooled.

The little colt doesn't need rescuing from what I can see. He'll probably go to someone who will geld him and have a nice 4 year old pony in 2 years time.

Doesn’t sound like a novice at all reading the other two adverts.

that was referring to the tb, not the 2yo. the 2yo is fine, except for being free

The OTTB came off the track in January and has had the wrong rehab so far, but I think you would be shocked at the musculature of many OTTBs straight off the track. He's sold for £2300, hopefully to somebody who knows more than the seller.

the reduction from £2300 from £1800 was what made me think they want shot of him before winter

Maybe I just don't trust people to do right by the animals.

FWIW motivation in starting this thread was that the ad be passed on to, or seen by, someone knowledgeable who can PREVENT the colt becoming a rescue case by being picked up by someone who just sees that he's free
