Trying so very hard not to squeal out loud lol Pony passed the vetting this morning with flying colours, just needs a saddle fitting then i can bring him home! (not to the back garden but you know what I mean!)

Its a bit of a pointless post really but for all those who are like me and are too afraid to call my advice would be to use somewhere like preloved... they have a messaging box so you dont have to speak to anyone in the first instance and it helps you get over the fear... who knows you may find a partner after a week like I did! (I expected months of searching...)

wow! :)

so excited for you both (Orsen & Serianas!)

I have been looking for ages....:( we have more specific requirements due to my size and my daughters nervousness but I'm sure I've missed out on 'possible right ones' because I was too scared to call! your post has given me the kick I need! I want to feel your excitedness too!! :D

Go on suec04 - you can do it! I was terrified of contacting the seller. Then I was terrified of going to see the horse. I was convinced they would laugh at me and say there was no way I could buy their horse! chuckle. It was all stuff and nonsense. First horse I went to see was an absolute blinder - probably because after 6 months of just looking I had learnt to discount an awful lot straight away - and I bought him post vetting - took a week! And as for the seller - couldn't have been more pleasant, helpful, etc etc etc even to the extent that if the new pony and I experience any settling problems then she is more than happy to come and help us out and offer some advice. so now tomorrow he comes to our yard! Eeeeeek! My very first ridden pony of my very own, rather than my daughter's ones that are too small! Come and join our club. It's AMAZING! xxx

Thank you so much Orson :) I hope I have the same great experience as you next time around. I did pluck up the courage to look at 3 horses last summer but they weren't right for us for one reason or another and it put me right off! I'm so worried about buying the wrong one that I see 'danger' in every advert! :D

I wanna be in your club!!! so, the very next horse ad I see that looks about right, I'm gonna call......I am armed with a list of questions and a reasonable budget, a place reserved at a livery yard and a host of experienced people out looking for me.....I'm gonna bring our 'pony' home before my 40th in May!!!! :D
xxx

Serianas - new pony arrived home at 8:45 this morning! whoohoo! Everything went perfectly - although they did have to turn around as the route I picked for them to travel involved a railway bridge they couldn't fit under! whoops! I hadn't thought about that!

Good luck for next week - tell us how it goes. :D Fingers crossed for you. :D xxxxxxx

And I would definately go for it Sue... I was so lucky in the fact that the person selling this pony was knowledgable, friendly and a no-pressure seller.. if they try and put the moves on you just walk away :)
