Pony needing a new home

if it's free, please give it to a charity, so that they can ensure it is well looked after, broken in, etc etc.
in my experience, if people pay nothing for something, it has no value to them. to ensure a decent life for it, i would give it to a charity or ask for money tbh.

We have tried to sell it but no one seems to want a 4 year old broken in gelding, he is at ours for schooling but is not going to be a first pony for a few years yet so feel it is best if he was somewhere else ideally for a summer project, and for someone to have some fun with.

It's not always true that if someone has something for free then it has no value to them.

Someone has just given me a horse for free, she's 7yo and fabulous. Know why she is free to me? Because the ex owner knows I'll do right by her, and treat her the same as my others.

i agree with linda vet people carefully so he ends up in a great home not to be sold on in a few weeks

i agree too.

people giving horses away can lead to all sorts of horrible futures for the horse in question.

visit the yards of people you intend to let him go to, speak to people who may know them such as bsja / pony club reps also
