Pony not drinking and struggling to wee

For some time now I have been concerned about my 14.2 NF pony not drinking enough. He lives in and drinks a bucket of water a day at the most. He has haylage and a small soaked feed of chaff and calm and condition.
He also struggles to wee and is always trying to go and doing little wees but never big ones.
I clean his sheath every six months and get lots of horrible bits from it.
He seems fine and well in every other way.

You need to get a vet out

Any animal struggling to urinate should be seen immediately by a vet as an emergency.

Agree you need to see a vet to check this out asap. How old is he?
I assume he's taking up a stance but not able to pee, does he dribble at all as he's moving around? If he's happy for you to take a look, check the very end of the penis to see if there is a build up of crud - you'll hear it called a 'bean', that can cause problems.

Could be very uncomfortable.

It's better to have a vets bill and a healthy horse, then waiting and possibly letting your horse suffer.
