Where is the best place to look for a pony on loan?

We are looking for a nice allrounder 14.2-15.2 for my younger brother to carry on learning and start competing more and start pony club - his part loan pony is to old now to be out most weekends which is what he wants.

Will also be for Mum to hack and I might do the odd competition/schooling as neither of my horses are up to much at the moment - one to young and one to old!!

I called 3 yesterday, 2 from local shop and one on horsequest and all 3 had been snapped up already!!

Any suggestions?

Horsemart usually has lots on, plus the obvious like local tack shops.

I got both of mine through word of mouth so make sure you've told all of your horsey contacts that you're looking for something, and what you want.

I think its worth advertising yourself - locally at tack shops or on the internet etc. When I was looking I found that some owners didn't want the hassle of the 100 calls as a result of the advert : )

Good luck!

Advertise yourself, when i was thinking of putting my baby out on loan i did not want to shift throught tonnes of people and have loads try her out, so i waited and see someone on here looking and now she is i the perfect home with a fab family
