Well swelling round splint came back up after Sat, and hasnt gone down so got vet out today. He's not too concerned (phew), but G is going to have to be on box rest for rest of week, and buted to get swelling down. Annoying as is fttest has ever been, and is going so well, but never mind, fingers crossed only miss the one event (Stafford) although obviously healing 100% is main priority!! Vet thinks he did it kicking himself, so makes me feel better that there is nothing I could have done differently. Horses!!
Thats well rubbish! Poor Godfrey! Hope he has a speedy recovery & if its any consolation my pony had a splint from a kick & it eventually disapeered completely - so shouldnt cause a problem in the future!
Thanks J, not too concerned, but this one caught me out as only had ones that made them lame or did nothing, This one did something but has only just made him sore...
Thanks people, is appreciated!! Why is their timing always sooo bad?!! FIngers crossed for quick recovery, and am lucky as am aware could be SO much worse!!
what is it with these monsters? Flash is out of action too at the moment after trying to climb through a fence to get to longer grass and slicing arounf his fetlock. I've never known a horse so clumsy, he's covered in cuts and splints despite never being ridden or turned out without being thoroughly booted up
Healing vibes coming your way from one accident prone coloured baby to another
