Hello! Anyone here put a pony pad (treeless) on a horse?

My 2yr old is wanting to start riding more but I don’t want to buy a pony just yet 🙈 I have 14hh pony she can use for now but the saddle is huge so I am thinking of getting something similar to the photo. Anyone done anything similar? Will it fit ok?

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks! I didn’t realise the panels were adjustable!

Yeah, but don't think it'll make the saddle fit, they're okay with little dots, but they really don't truly "fit" much. The pad would be fine IMO.

Edited to clarify - with tiny riders it doesn't matter half as much, probably either would be fine, it's just the panel adjustment doesn't magically make it fit, and there are plenty of ponies where owners are adjusting it, thinking it's improved the fit, it causes other fit issues but because the rider is so tiny it doesn't cause obvious issues. I would recommend a decent sheepskin, possibly Prolite or similar, under either, as long as it doesn't cause stability issues.

I like the Wintec kids cub saddle . Sturdy, have never had a pony hate it so long as there is a prolite or something underneath, and the panels are foam with no hard edges. Both my children learned to ride in it, with good leg position and were secure enough to sit the Shetland’s antics.

Thanks for the extra info! The horse it would go on is super wide so I reckon I will go with the treeless pad to begin with and see how we get on :)
