Hi guys,
Just asking a bit of advice regarding my mare. Shes one of those good doer types and all summer lives of grass! During the winter she has had on and off diharrea it varies from being very loose cow patty to bit sloppy to normal shes been good for the past 6 or so weeks normal poos! and today ive gone up yard and its cow pats! Ive had the vet out twice (worried owner me ) done quite a lot of tests and said normal and physically he said he cant see a lot wrong young fit healthy horse all wormed and up to date using the equest worming program. Just seems on and off and I think Its to do with the hay.. but my supplier said all off same field etc. Any supplements or anything I can do? Otherwise shes perky not de-hydrated colicy seems fine just this loose poos!

Any advice would be really appreaciated! :) x

Has she been out on grass? I think the warm weather has caused a growth flush - I've got one with cow pats too.

I tend to add a scoop of limestone flour for a few days to settle her down. Coligone was really good, but I got fed up with unreliable delivery.

You could try Protexin Gut Balancer. Lots of people on here recommend it. It's a powder supplement which you add to feed. I had a similar problem with my gelding during the late summer/autumn - nothing cured it, it just went away of its own accord. He had sloppy poo plus jet stream farts!
