Hi, just wondering does anyone have any advice or experiences with anything similar?

My little cob pony is very head shy and does not like you touching behind her ears or near her face. she was diagnosed with sweet itch a few months ago and scratches behind her ears often so i put it down to that.

she is never moody or reactive she just tries to get away from me of if i go near her face.

Today i was grooming her and i stroaked the underside of her neck/ throat area. When i did this she pinned her ears back and went to bite me. She has never displayed this behaviour ever before, i looked at the area and could not see anything out of the ordinary! I touched her there again and she did it again.

I am now super concerned about her and have no idea what this could be!

Any advice at all is welcome thank you x

If she is super fluffy and you can’t see totally consider getting her sedated (some dormosedan will do the trick) and clipping the whole area. I’d be mostly concerned about an injury or abscess or tooth issue that’s hiding under cob fur
