Hi everyone.
I hope you can help me.
My miniature has laminitis. He is currently being fed spillers happy hoof molasses free, tumeraid & Dodson and horrell breath free. He used to have spillers lite & lean balancer aswell. I am trying to reduce the sugar & starch in his diet that’s why I stopped feeding the balancer. I started him on thunderbrooks daily essentials power supplement. He is now refusing to eat any of his feed. Is they anything I could add to try & encourage him to eat his feed. He will happily eat his hay so he isn’t off his food all together.
Thank you for your replies in advance

It may just be the change he’s objecting to, it tasting strange/different.
Mine treats everything new with outright suspicion.
I’d try leaving the balancer out for a few days to see if he eats what he’s used to, if he eats it happily, then add a tiny bit eg a teaspoon if he eats up a teaspoon more the next day etc gradually building it up.

Thank you very much. I built it up over 7 days. When it got to the bigger amounts that’s when he refused to eat it. I didn’t think to break it down even further. Thank you

Trying adding one of these in his feed: peppermint cordial, apple juice, strong mints melted in boiling water, mint and garlic mixed together, peppermint essence diluted in water.

Trouble is the more you mix in an effort to disguise something, the more suspicious they can become ?

Secret is trying to find a feed they really enjoy so if you add to it they will still eat it.
