Pony rescued from her own mane!

Phew, happy ending... poor mare looked absolutely exhausted and sore, but I'm sure she recovered well..... lovely example of a foal that will grey out too! :)

I recently bought a mare who had a long mane with a couple of wind plaits. I've heard of them, obviously, but not had any first-hand experience before and I've got to admit that was shocked by just how difficult it was to unwind them, even when the majority of the plait had been cut off! Even with a liberal application of mane conditioner, they didn't just brush out and needed several minutes of finger-nail teasing to get the hairs to start to separate.

aw, great that all was ok in the end.

Where was that? Unusual landscape with those dykes running through.

It is in Wales, near-ish to Swansea.

The ponies are feral and run on the salt flats, when the tide comes in I have seen them wading back to the shore (to wreak havoc on gardens, they roam the village) up to their necks in water, swimming when they have to.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the village though ... I've been gone from there a long time now.
