Hi!
My pony is rubbing the backs of his ears- i think....
I havent actually seen him do it but there is not much hair left on the base of them and when you rub your hands over them he seems to really enjoy it and rubs back which he wouldnt normally do. I found a small thorn in one of the ears and took it out, antisepticed it but think he might be rubbing on the bracken in his feild which he eats anyway (he is a NF and came from the moors as a foal so enjoys eating the roughage) however i will consider taping round.
What could be causing this itching as it doesnt seem painful just mildly itchy but not swollen or red....

Thanks and please ask if you need more information xx

Maybe it's sweetitch or some sort of allergy? Maybe if you get your vet out they might be able to check it out.... Or you could cover them up for a bit and see if anything happens (use a fly mask with ears or something)?
