Any ideas for cheap 0g turnout rug. Most rugs I have tried are too deep and the surcingles are much too loose.

Bridleways Ontario rugs are good. This is one on my slim 3yr old Arab. I had a Harry Hall rug I had to sell at the straps were massive on him. At their tightest they would come halfway up to his back so I couldn't even knot them.

I've also got a Gallop rug which fits nicely too. (Blue). He's in size 5'6.

I've noticed so many horses have saggy surcingles. I have mine so I can fit a fist between them and the horse.

Mine has an Amigo's and a few shires, I find the straps on the turnouts ok, they are on the shortest adjustment though. I did have to have his sweetitch rug altered as that was way too big.

Depends on the pony shape. My narrow chested 4'9" mare fits Amigos well and they last ages, so lots of secondhand ones on the market. I have to avoid PE as they're ridiculously deep. Weatherbeeta we just about get away with. Shires I have to knot.

Derby house used to be my go to, sadly no longer in business.

Amigo are good though, weatherbeeta never seemed to fit! Maxima equestrian do a decent turnout too actually which fitted pretty well.

I love shires rugs for ponies now, if chunky go for the highlander models, otherwise standard tempest fitted ours well

Ruggles are great but I’ve just stumbled across Maxima Equestrian, their rugs are absolutely amazing, I’m in love with my Weatherbeeta for my mare but having bought two from Maxima for my little ones, I bought one for my mare too, they’re really nice, 1200 denier, really nicely made and they are completely waterproof, feel like I should be asking for commission from Maxima.

Yep our Maxima one is really good! The stable rug wasn't great quality but the turnouts are great.
