Pony rugs that fit!

Little Billy pony takes a 5ft rug, recently got him a nice Gallop medium weight which fitted well but has now become too big round the neck to slips back behind his whithers. Luckily mumsey is a dab hand at alterations so will get her to put a few stitches in. He used to have a lovely thick weatherbeeta one but sadly it didn't come back with him when he came back from my friends riding school :( anyhoo I'm rambling but what rug makes fit ponies well and wont cost me million!
 
If your pony has narrow shoulders, then Amigo's or half neck/wug style rugs might work well. I use Rhino Wugs and Amigos on my youngsters and recently got a Masta half neck which is pretty good too. Be careful with the Rhino pony range though - my 5'6 one is even smaller than my 5'6 'horse' Rhino and the 'horse' Rhino is smaller than the 5'6 Masta.
 
I love Amigo rugs for my Welsh A, I bought her the MW and LW rugs and a neck cover last year and they are super. I got the 1200D ones as she lives out and the neck can be attached to both so if needs be we can layer her up. She also has a Mark Todd pony rug in a MW and a neck cover but they don't fit as nicely but do as a spare.
 
Also try the Shires Tempest Rugs, I actually returned an Amigo Mio yesterday and bought the Shires Tempest Rug instead as it was deeper with longer surcingles. They have a super fit round the neck of my youngsters. My MW cost £46.50, which I thought was really good value. It was bought to replace a Rhino pony wug MW which still fits lengthwise, but was slipping back and turning into a pony straightjacket every night.
 
My Welsh PB is fairly fine and the Amigo rugs fit well.
Sec A stallion is much more chunky and the Cuddly Pony range fit him well. So do the Mark Todd ones.

in fact if the MT design they use for ponies was available in horse sizes i'd get one, high viz on the seams and anti-rub material on neck is super. I can find the little tank at night and he still has a mane:D
