Had a phone call earlier from my mums friend who's daughter is almost 12 been riding for 3 years. Need to get a bigger pony as Lauren is now too tall for current pony.
She's a competent neat rider who did pc camp last year and loved it and wants to compete this year, but she looks silly on a 13hh pony when she's 5ft 5'!
The parents are not horsey at all and have no idea what they are looking at. i found prince for her so they have asked me to find her a new one.

Not sure I'd want to travel to Devon or Isle of Wight to view, and they are the more pricey ones. The one near to you in Essex looks nice. I'm 5 ft 5 in and ride a 14.2/14.3 horse/pony, so size wise he sounds right. Only one photo but description sounds what you're looking for.

ps - I'm no expert :)
 
that's what i thought. i have been told "money no object" (they are loaded!) and they don't mind where it. Being practical i don't want to drive too far to view a pony :)
 
It really depends on what disciplines she wants to compete in and to what level.

Personally, I think the coloured looks particularly nice as it seems to have done a bit of everything - jumping, showing, dressage, hunting, hacking alone and even happy to do fancy dress! But if they will have to travel a long way to view it it would be worth getting more info - perhaps videos of it competing, more photos, Googling its competition name for results, and get a reference from the MFH and PC/RC organisers.

Not sure if the Devon one would last her long - my daughter is 5'5" and her legs are beginning to dangle on her 14hh.

The Essex one is not very well described and the wording makes it sounds like it is not good at showjumping and dressage! But perhaps worth investigating further as it is local.
 
Tbh i think the first one and may have more talent and scope than this kid needs... but nice ponies none the less and if they want something flashy they look good... for a 12 year old that's only been riding for 3 years I would be more focusing on something very safe and honest rather than competition record...
