I know I probably shouldn't but I have arranged a viewing tomorrow - I'm a little bit excited!! OH has said 'cool' so I'm taking that as a 'yes you can buy as many ponies as you like dear' I think that is fair!

My specification was a 3 year old that I could break/bring on over winter and do some low level showing/dressage etc in the spring to maybe sell in the summer. A bargain (few hundred quid) ok confirmation, not fussed about markings but I'm not a fan of a coloured or hairy legs (personal opinion). to finish growing somewhere between 13hh and 14.2hh.

So tomorrow I'm going to look at a 6 month old section C colt.:D

Seems a likely accurate interpretation of OH to me.

seems legit, we were looking for an older, darker coloured gelding and bought a palo 5yo mare, she's still here at 22.. .

So he should mature to 13.2 and his asking price suggests he could be a bargain so I've not gone completely away from my list. Dressage might have to wait a wee while though :p

Your initial spec was WAY to specific . It will only raise expectations and lead to disappointment . I find

1) A Pony

covers most requirements .

I hope he has two as well. I bred one with only one so when I went looking for a potential stallion I insisted on checking he had a pair much to the breeder's amusement. He did thankfully, he was only 6 months at that point so not easy to find.

Yes definitely has 2. The weather was shocking so saw him mostly in his stable, which meant we could get 'up close and personal'

Also nice to know that they have crossed the same mare and gelding again this year so must be happy with what they produced. They have retained the filly from the previous year to show, so that's good too.

Lovely people with a lovely set up and only a small breeding program x

Must be a very special set up to be crossing a mare and a gelding ?
I wonder if OH will be more cagey next time you suggest buying a pony, what’s the betting he wasn’t expecting one to arrive quite so quickly?

?‍♀️Was talking about the cost of having him gelded while typing. (must stop pretending I can multi task!)

OH is sat waiting for his dinner. Its well earnt. He's been out in the rain/drizzle/wind building a new stable/shelter (designing as we go) for the newbie. As we couldn't possibly let him stay out in the rain!! He's now sourcing foal rugs on marketplace. I'm starting to wonder who's pony this is going to be.

I'm really terrible at remembering to take photos. I've been watching him all afternoon and took one dodgy video and this terrible photo. I'll try and get better ones tomorrow.
The poor lad was cornered by the turkey (I had to shut him away.)

So, here is Kimberjoys Robin Hood. I'm so excited!!!

He’s gorgeous ❤️. I pulled a similar pony heist in my poor husband when he came around to the idea of a more “normal” pony for our son - that conversation was had on the Sunday, we met madam on the Monday night (chance advert spot, honest!) and she came home on the Thursday. And she was meant to be a been-there-done-that 12+ pony, and ended up with a 4-year-old Section C! So far though she’s done nothing to make me regret the gamble we took on her...

All settled this morning. Happy to receive his breakfast, but not so happy with me straightening his rug while he was eating. He will have to learn to keep those little back legs on the ground while I'm around him. He seems quite ticklish.

B1 is not impressed. I've had to move his haynet as Robin was looking at it and that is clearly not allowed! B1 (or B we can all him now) is very grumpy about the whole situation, but Robin isn't reading the situation that way. Robin is quite happy to trot round his little paddock with his tail over his back while B charges up and down the fence looking like he's chewing a wasp. Some boys are so ungrateful! We bought him a friend for god sake! LOL
