Lady I went with today to have dog hip scored with. Has the skin of one of her old ponies up on the wall?? I thought weired at first till I saw it & then didn't actually quite mind it was in fact rather fasinated with it!??

What are you opinions??

I have a pic but wont post it straight away or if people think not???

Can't see results till end of time.

how unusual! i personally wouldnt do it-a little too weird for me! i have previouslly cut a bit of mane to keep and i would keep the ashes of mine but the skin is a little strange-however some people need something more than a pot of ashes i guess. Id be fascinated to see it! as for good or bad- well it cant really be either-its up to you isnt!

What a fascinating thing

That really is thought provoking, although I'm not against it, I wouldn't want my horse going 'up there' with no skin...

Will wait to opst it if a few more would like to see??

Looks OK really I didn't ralise it was that at first & she had already told me aboutit!!

In the pic you can also see a mounted pic of her on the horse.
Think it wouls be 30years since it was done so not a recent thing.

OK here is the pic of it!

The pic of the horse alive is the top on the right. If you look at the pic the neck is at the top with legs to either side if that makes sence?

Thats awesome! I knew someone that had their little pony stuffed and kept it in their living room! That was odd! I think I will however stick to the cremation plan for when my little love passes on!

It looks shaggier than it was (camera phone) also alot lighter in real life too but was soft to the touch, dont know why I expected it to be prickly!!

Or save having a sofa you could sit on him watching TV!

I have a number of skins and like them, however I'm not sure I could ever have a skin of a pet or an animal that had a name.

Having said that, it is a standing joke in my house that when one of my cats die we are going to make her into a trapper hat - her fur is like a chincillas - of course we won't really

People thought I was weird for having some of Blue's tail put into a silver clasp....not sure I'd want him hanging on my wall though! x

Like most I have shoes of horss & bits of tails. There was a place that would make them into braclets or key rings or necklaces by braiding. I always fancied that but dont know where the company is now!! Any help anyone!???

I never noticed to be honest but looking at pic again I see the 2 bit I think you are referring too!?? Thinking about it I think it would as the top part of the neck is there so to speak. It was a bit russeled up in that part so not certain

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I guess I give horses more respect than most people do.

I see my horse as my best friend, I love him to pieces. You imagine if your (human) best friend died, how repectful would be to insist on having them skinned then pinned on your wall as a trophy? Not at all, and I'm sure nobody would even consider it. I respect my horse as much as I respect humans, therefore I find pinning a horse's skin to the wall sickening. 'Nuff said.
