I have been finding it difficult to find information on Pony Stallions and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Have a young KWPN maiden 16.2, by Pro-set, with Metall (Ferro) on the dam side and Flemmingh on the sire side. Very nice, athletic stamp of a mare.

Seeking to breed something rather smaller for dressage/showing and looking for a pony stallion with a good trainable temperament.

Any suggestions please

Have looked on SPSS website before and quite liked Salvador but the range seems fairly limited for dressage.

I know that the Edmonds family used to breed ponies for dressage (when they had Manitu I think) but cant seem to track any info down.

Wondered if anyone had any personal experience/recommendations for pony stallions, pleeeeaaaaassssee.

Not really. Try Caesar (Team pony), Top Yellow (Team pony) and Bernwode Brokat (top pony for age) to nam ejust three, plus Littledale Bright Star if you want something much smaller.

Aimbry Chester and Orchards Glasnost are probably both also proven dressage ponies but may be a bit too big to breed small from a Pro-Set

And that's just off the top of my head :-)

Manitu is still on the SPSS graded stallion list but Broomfored Dancer has now retired from stud.

We are standing both Salvador and Top Yellow this year by AI and natural and although they have both been produced as Dressage ponies they do both jump really well and will be out jumping this spring.

Their usual rider is a dressage rider so that is what they have been doing to date.

If you want more information or indeed a stud card please dont hesitate to ask

How small do you want to go?

I nearly bought Havel from the Nijhofs a few years ago, he's tiny. Beautiful movement and very well bred. He's not a pony, but he is a tiddler. I think they've still got him.

Ceasar, thats it couldnt remember his name!
Lovely Pony! Under Nat Allen he was mega.
B/W Brokat is quite fine, but a pleasant pony. Always think its a shame that Langar and Pepi arent entire.
What about the po0ny that Alice Thompson has, a DHI pony but am having a name blank. Not sure whether its a gelding tho.

Have a chat with Fleur100.... she may be able to help!

Oooh lots of great suggestions, thank you all very much. Some stunning ponies.
Gives me a place to start although some I have thought of before.

Im ideally aiming for something no larger than 15hh, but I realise thats its not a perfect world.

Really like CVS Hot Business but at 15.2 thought he might be a little bigger than I wanted but still on my short list.
I wasnt aware that HG had a pony stallion but will PM her accordingly.
Thanks again

I checked out Havel as I would have loved to have kept the Dutch breeding but he is 16 hh, so not quite as diddy as I would have hoped.

Thanks for the pointer though.

There was another one on here yesterday that I replied to and that has gone as well...

I put my mare to SPSS stallion Laban, who has competed in dressage, to medium I think? Anyway, I could of watched him move all day! Fab temprement too.
