pony that gets his tounge over the bit

hi

i have a 6 year old pony that gets his tongue over the bit, i have tried lots of bits from french linked snaffle and pelhams to us military, i have also tried bitless but the problems is he is very strong at times ( heavy weight cob)

i now have him in a french link hanging cheek snaffle but need a noseband with it.

has anyone got any ideas it would help loads

Our Pony did this, we tried many things because like you she was a strong forward going ride. In the end she had a full cheek joined snaffle with wide bars and a dropped noseband and that solved it. We found she had a small mouth and needed a much smaller size bit than usual for a 14.2.

A PeeWee bit can be good for a horse with a fat tongue/low pallet and very useful for a strong horse. Are you sure that your bit is high enough in his mouth?
