Pony wanting to chew everything!

My 18 year old pony has recently decided he needs to chew on just about anything he can get his teeth into. He chews the plastic tack box, brushes, lead rope, metal and wood, with plastic being his favourite. Any ideas why? He had his teeth done 2 months ago. He's also rubbing his muzzle on his foreleg a lot.

Then I have no idea, sorry. Have you spoken to the vet over the phone? Might be worth casually asking what they think. I know my vet would be more than happy if they had a spare couple of minutes to answer a little query like that on the phone and it wont cost a thing. If your a little worried then ring them
