Anyone know what the cause could be?!
I've been around horses for years now and have never ever thought horse poo smells but hers stinks at the mo .. :o
There's been no change in her diet, her routine has changed slightly as the spring grass is flaring up her lami so she's in a lot again but other than that nothing!
Sorry for the weird question :p

the change in routine is enough to do it. Pink powder works miracles for my naglets at settling their tums and producing lovely enviable poops (and it's cheap cos you use so little, and palatable to them)....

Hmmm, glad its not just Lyla! She is v stinky bottom at the moment :o our grass is starting to come thro :( so that's prob the cause. Going to try and set up paddock paradise this weekend! :D

Without a doubt it will be the grass....and the fact she is lami prone means to change in poo is a proper red flag.

Give her Happy Tummy...it is charcoal and will really help by absorbing the toxins in her git which are causing the stinky poo and will give her lami.

Also give her yea sacc and pink powder to sort it out. If she is in soak her hay and dont feed her anything mollased....speedibeet is great for sorting out the tummy with lots of good fibre and no sugar/starch.

Google Hind gut acidosis.

Thanks Marley&me, she's on soaked hay and speedibeet and a handful of healthy hooves at the mo and only out for 1 - 2 hours a day in a small field without much grass so there's not really much more i can do for her. Will google happy tummy :)

Take her off of the healthy hooves. It will do her no good.

If she needs more feed/calories due to work then a handful of micronised linseed is best.

To be honest i was thinking of taking her off it soon anyway. It was mainly to get her weight back up over the winter as she's not a good doer.
Really really difficult to find a balance that works for her :(
