Poo Pickers

Now we have 6 horses and ponies rather a large amount of poo is being generated. We will be having a look at the Logic collector at the Royal Highland as it has a 4ft working width so you can just drive about and let it do the work.

Anyone have opinions on poo picker alternatives?

As an alternative we have plenty of room so were considering just rotating the fields with sheep grazing after the horses. Apart from this meaning I can't buy another toy, any thoughts on pros and cons of this?
 
If you go to a stand at a county show, they will give you loads of info and you normally get money off if you order/buy 1 on the day, but go with some thought of what you want/don't want.
 
that's why God created chain harrows and sheep:D
I triple rotate with sheep and cattle, I can find million better things to do than poo picking frankly.
Sheep help with worm control and tidying up badly grazed fields, cattle work as brilliant walking fertilisers:)
 
IF you dont have access to the above post (!) and a poo picker is the realistic option then I woul ONLY go for the Predator range of poo pickers for a number of reasons:
1. They macerate the poo so break it down to a fine powder. Fits more in the hopper.
2. Brushes are NOT a good idea on the fields (some poo pickers have brushes). More mechanical interferance has been cited in increasing chances of "grass sickness" in horses. - Brush driven poo pickers were cited in the research.
3. Predators are just about indestructable. They are a metal body and do not rust. They are fairly simple machines with butt kicking engines that do not go wrong easily - Briggs and Stratton. I have had two. I sold my first one and bitterly regretted it so bought another one a few years later. They do hold their value too.

Mine are pooing machines in a 1-acres field, its never ending!

I love them machines you can buy for £1500.
