My friend has a miniature poodle which she trims for herself. I laughed at it today because it has tiny matchstick legs, and she says her problem is that she does not know how to trim it with "trousers". Laughed even more at that one :)

Anyway, can anyone advise how she can trim the legs without taking off all the hair and making them look so daft? She has tried an attachment on her clippers but it won't go through the undercoat.

Thanks!

Only way to do it properly is to scissor them....that way you can get the right size / shaped. Some people adept a method of skimming with a comb attachment or even a 7F to sculpt the look they desire. But to be honest, most poodles in a salon and show ring are done with scissors.

Here's a before / after of a toy with small skinny legs (the before is the first time the wee dog came to visit and had been DIY'd by his mum

Not much I could do except tidy it til it grew in.

He's got rather bandy legs and it shows when they're this "small"

He would look better like this, IMO...

Free-scissored all the way....but it does take practice

erm, excuse the sticky-outies on those legs! Wee booger doesn't stant still. Also, a rather untidy shop in the background. I must get myself a tidy-er! LOL
