Don't worry he's still alive!! But he's moved to a new field recently with his friends. The water trough is in a corner and they have to kind of walk into it with electric fence on one side and then it runs up and there is a high fence about 7/8 foot above the actual trough. He's been drinking ALL his water when he come for the day time so we were getting a bit worried about him so observed for a while when we put them out.
The poor sod doesn't dare to go and get a drink!! He was thirsty so spent ages thinking about it and then got one tiny sip and would jump back all frightened.
Must have got a shock at some point and doesn't understand.
I just do not understand the need for all the electric fencing everywhere!! makes me nervous taking it on and off the gate so never mind the horses!!
Do you think electric fencing is necessary on an otherwise very well fenced set of paddocks?
