Poor Blacky is having an awful time!

She can't eat grass

The vet thinks she's banged herself on something in the barn, or been kicked but she's very sore and a bit swollen right on her jaw bone and she can't put her head to the ground
If that's the case I can imagine it's very sore poor girl, but she's on bute and hopefully it'll get better soon

We did think maybe an abcess but it's not and she is eating fine, although we have to stand and hold her bowl up for her, they seem to take forever to eat when you have to stand there!

She's a cob so she's very upset at not being able to eat constantly bless her

Poor girl, I know how much cobs like their food.

She has haylage but they usually get it on the ground and the effort of a haynet seemed to be too much, although she did eat some of it after a while

Poor girl. Can you rig something up so she can eat her haylage at head height from a trug possibly?

Not really cause the horses are all in a barn together and she won't stable by herself so someone else would just eat it
She did eat the stuff in the haynet eventually lol and she is getting 2 hard feeds for the bute.
She will just have to not eat overnight for a few days but that won't do her any harm lol!
