Need some healing vibes. Went to get my horse in today he was very quiet. Tacked up walked around he felt ok until trotting. I got off and noticed he has a swollen tendon which is painful when touched. Hoping it's just bruised. Any ideas? X

As Gunnergundog says. And ice, ice and ice as much as you can, you need to get the inflammation down as soon as you can.

If you do put ice on it, make sure that the ice is not in contact with the skin as it will burn. You can buy a gel wrap on Amazon which has a gel insert which you can freeze - it comes with a velcro strap which keeps the pack in place. They are for sports injuries to humans - not expensive either. If you can't ice it then hose with cold water.

Agree, bring him in, ice with care or cold hose as much as you can or use cold water boots as per instructions and speak to your vet

Yes last night I iced my horses front legs with the Ice Vibe boots, forgot to get some kitchen roll to put under so tore a couple of pages out of Pick Me Up magazine and prayed that the print didn't come out on his white socks :)

Get a farrier to look at it . Dont give AIs or anything till its been looked at, 95% of what people think are tendons are foot abscesses . Its back to basics . I would love a pound for the number of times ive heard my horse has done its tendon only for it not to have done. All you do if you give AIs pre diagnosis is slow the natural process down. In my experience farriers are better than vets to tell you.

No it's definitely not an abscess- no symptoms of being that. It's definitely a leg strain.
