Hi, im talking to someone on MSN and shes just mentioned her little pony. He's rising 2 and 13.3hh. Shes just said that shes selling him because he hasnt made 14.2hh!!! (i thought he would have a bit of growing left to do?

)
And they are in the proccess of backing him to be turned away before he goes to a new home!!!! He not even 2 yet!!!!

I'd offer her what you can afford, then walk away. Leave your email, and don't blink before she does. And tell her the offer only stands if she's not managed to bu**er him up completely trying to break him at two!

I would say in the price range of 800 nothing over 900 tho or do what skewbald said offer i would by him is shes backed him tho it will cause you problems later on is he vacc passported etc.

Offer her five hundred, in crisp notes, offer stands til Friday. Say midnight Friday, it sounds better! And then chill. After all, what have you got to lose?
(I take it you'd have a good look before actually handing over any money.)

Is he Appaloosa spotted or plain colour?
Spots could add value!
13.3 at rising two should make 14.2 or more

Our rising 2 yr old is 14 hands and should make 15.1
( sire 15.2, dam 15 hands)

Although if shes only just sarted to back him, shes not going to do that much damage before friday... Unfortunately thats not the first time ive heard of this... in fact, I once met a 6 month old cob colt who already had the 3 and 6 year old kids sitting on him... sometimes both together...

It seems to me she doesnt know much about horses as i had to laugh about height .
Anyway someone will gain as that horse will make 14.2 no dought about it .
my friend brought a horse in the same way a woman sold him cause he was 13 hh and know he stands at 14.3 .

There kids tho im still not agreeing with it but they are light compered to a fully weight adult person .
They back racehorses at 2 yr and may of those end up having back problems so require back people
It also puts strains on tendons etc even though there not doing much but still can do a good amount of damage with a full wight person onboard.

Should sell very easily without even being backed!
Many buyer prefer an unbacked pony, so they can , at the right time, do it their way. Try to convince them of that.

Have you already seen it?

Has it been castrated? If your going to make an offer tell them that it is only on the understanding that they do NOT back it and explain (if they are to thick to know) that you should never back a young pony of this age. We all know that alot of 2 year old racehorses are backed at this age but them look at the problems they have.

no you wouldnt how much is she wanting to get rid i would offer and see cause as the other person said what have you got to lose
