I am about to give up and change the colour of my neddies as the gingers are always sick and the grey one is bouncing off the walls cause she is feeling so well. My 7 year old is offto the vets on weds for an endoscope and possible redoing of his tieback cause currently most of what he is eating is coming down his nose and my 22 year old has been v quiet all morning (normally a v in your face type always kicking doors not a moments peace but wouldn't have him any other way!!!

) got him from the field wouldn't eat kept laying down etc took him temp which was nearly at 41c so vet up checked him over and tried to do the whole hand up the backside which even in his state took great offence so v tiny bit of sedation given (1/2 dose for a 12.2hh) and he has had a major over reaction to it ,hyperventalating, covered in sweat, uncoordinated couldn't stand up so have spent the last three hours propping up a 17.2hh and breathe!!! Sorry had to get that off my chest , v concerned about my old boy as they can't find any source of infection - any other ideas???

Sorry to hear your neds aren't well.

Strangely though, my ginger ned wasn't great a couple of weeks ago. Very quiet, drinking too much, temperature very low (well, she is a chestnut mare, she has to be different!). Had the vet out to her, who did blood tests, and took a urine sample. Nothing showing up on any tests, except a high white cell count (and slightly raised liver enzymes - not unusual in a 26 year old).

Vet prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection (pending urine results, which we assumed was the problem). Got the final results back on Fri - nothing wrong with her. No source of infection. Given her age, and the fact she's perked up on antibiotics (came in doing a full blown passage last night, pushing me about all over the place), they've suggested I monitor her and call them if I'm worried.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you
