Poor staffie found in Staffs

Just saw this on facebook, poor dog, there are just no words for some people. It may be harsh but unless the finder wants to keep him I think the kindest thing would be to pts.:(

Dog will be under vet care shortly and is only a young dog who seems to be handling the entire situation quite calmly. Fingers crossed this will be the start of a new beginning for this poor dog.

how sad that someone can do that

hopefully the tumour is not deep and will be easy to 'shell' out and he will just be a happy dog with history-problem is staffs a re so hard to rehome

That was my thought Jools. So many staffs in need of a home that are fit and well . This lads story may well prompt someone to adopt him , as long as it isn't someone letting their heart rule their head. I just hope whatever the outcome it is the best for the dog.

Poor dog :( Why would someone that the poor dog get in that condition and then leave if tied to railings? If they couldn't afford a vet they could have taken him to PDSA or RSPCA.

He's so lucky you took him home :)

Please keep us updated on what vet says.

If you go on to Canine Solutions fb page there are lots of updates. He is having his op today. As the chap who founds him seems to be going to keep him I take back my earlier thoughts re pts, he seems a lovely dog who deserves every chance.

Fingers crossed that the operation has gone/goes according to plans.

Update from the above page posted by cinnamontoast:

lil MITCH, back from walking my dogs n pigs, been longer than anticipated, so i went to collect him at 5.30 from HELEN the vet that has looked after us,who has been so kind and im sure has saved us a hefty wedge, at ALSAGER VET CENTRE,ST7 2GP 01270873478, MASSIVE PLUG ! thank you to her and hannah, the nurse.he has come through the op very well,he is stressed but that i think is not the trauma of the op but the environmental change and being seperated from his home, however vile it may have been his loyalty is at the forefront regardless. he is whining and unsettled. i left him for two hours in his crate, door closed fresh clean bedding and water only,i left my walking coat draped over the crate as that has only positive recent memories for him,on my return he came out distressed, went into garden and pood n weed, good sign, then ate like a very hungry big eaty thing after a fast, he has constantly winged for 15 mins but has settled a bit by my feet while i type. two tumors removed, castrated, biopsy, blood test, and more. he has a slightly enlarged spleen and liver has a problem, however as his immune system is low due to malnutrition and the tumor etc he may now get himself back to rights.i must keep him for the near future,to put on weight and muscle and for assessment.please no requests for adoption it cannot happen,i will post if it comes to that.i must get him well mentally as well as physically.i have the receipt from vets with work carried out today ,he is back in morning for check up,dressing change and a chat,he has had a dose of metacam 15 min ago,if he does not settle i will take him for a short walk, only 30 mins,on leash, under control, his mental health must not be neglected by his op trauma, they go hand in hand[he has settled now, gone quiet].MALAMUTE MATTERS, donated more today than his treatment cost today to the vets, GOD BLESS 'EM. so we have surplus to use,its early days yet but if all goes well and no secondry infections set in or no problems continue with the spleen and liver,we may have some to use for other doggies that need us,fingers crossed, 6 donations from the states, 2 from australia all the homies have chucked in and nearly all have never met me !!! you lot ROCK,I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF US. THANK YOU SEEMS SO INADEQUATE, POWER TO THE PACK!!!!POST VET REPORT WHEN PHONE CHARGES AS I NEED THE CAMERA ON IT TO PHOTO[NOT GOT A CAMERA]. LLLLLUUUURRRRRRRRRVVVVVV X

Sounds like he is doing well bless him, though a bit surprised at the suggestion of a 30 minutes walk after such major surgery. It does read from that as if maybe he isn't going to keep the dog which is sad.
